Trend-Lines

"Trend-Lines" is being developed as an interactive on-line information/education resource for students, parents, schools, and after school groups. While all information will be customized to each demographic group, content is coordinated so that stakeholders are informed in a common understanding of needs, issues, and opportunities. In addition to education on careers, career tracks, and career options within industries, the resource will feature approximate pay-scales and training and/or education needed. Where industries such as Utilities, Construction, the Transit System, Civil Service are represented by leading organizations, pathways of possible upward progression will be shown via both alternative entry level pathways and college bound pathways. Video interviews with actual employees along with background on their activities will highlight for students a vision of the kind of "community of people" they would be working with and the "culture" of the organization they would be working in. The generic resource will serve high school and college students, grades 9 thru 16.
