The Five CIS Basics:

Every child needs and deserves a...

  • Personal one-on-one relationship with a caring adult
  • Safe place to learn and grow
  • Marketable skill to use upon graduation
  • Chance to give back to the community
  • Healthy start

In August, a group of young people from throughout New York City will be the guests of Communities in Schools NY and the Tony Robbins Foundation to attend a special week-long Discovery Camp in London

In the fall, CISNY will train volunteer mentors from TIME Inc to work on a one-to-one basis with youth in ninth grade in neighboring schools. CISNY makes its training and technical assistance available to any community groups wishing to work closely with a school throughout New York City. For further information on our mentor training programs, contact Stephen Menchini, 212.407.6264.

At our November 13th benefit, CISNY will award Pastor Amandus Derr, Senior Pastor of Saint Peter's Lutheran Church for his leadership and selfless dedication to children of New York City and the fulfillment of the Communities in Schools mission.
